Gok Wan Is Coming To West Bromwich Town Hall!
Flamboyant fashion expert Gok Wan will be in West Bromwich to find the town’s worst dressed person this month – before giving them the makeover of their dreams.
Sandwell Council can today reveal that the style maestro is holding an open day for his show, Gok’s Fashion Fix, at West Bromwich Town Hall on Saturday, March 20.
Anyone over the age of eighteen can go along for figure fixing, mini makeovers and a wardrobe clearout!
Gok will pick the worst dressed person to receive a brand new wardrobe and superb makeover to be shown on TV later this year.
The fun starts at 9am when the doors of the town hall will open.
Women – or men – who would like to take part MUST take along clothes from their own wardrobes so they can show Gok their fashion disasters and tell him why they deserve a makeover.
The programme’s crew need people to take as much of the contents of their wardrobe as they can manage.
Gok’s visit to West Bromwich is for one of six shows concentrating on mid-sized towns.
Cllr Bob Badham, who is spearheading the regeneration of the town, said: “It’s a real honour to have a national TV show coming to West Bromwich Town Hall.
“Everyone, from council staff to the people the crew have been meeting on their visits to The Public, are really excited.
“And someone from West Bromwich is going to get a dream makeover at the end of it all. It will really put the town on the map.”
Sandwell Council’s cabinet member for culture and leisure Cllr Linda Horton said: “There is a real air of excitement about Gok’s visit.
“The programme makers Endemol have already met lots of people in West Bromwich and they received a really good response when they started asking for people to take part in the show.
“The programme is really good fun and it’s exciting to think that the interior of our beautiful town hall is going to be beamed into sitting rooms all around the country.”
