Council chiefs today hailed the St George’s family fun day a huge success. Around 10,000 people flocked to Dartmouth Park in West Bromwich to honour England and Englishness as bright sunshine bathed the borough.
Legendary children’s TV star Keith Chegwin cracked jokes and swapped banter at the event, which featured St George on horseback, skills at arms demonstrations and a medieval foot soldier tournament.
